A wounding case occurred in the Kwun Tong Police Station. At 0:36 am today (13th), a 45-year-old man surnamed Chung was reported to have entered the police station car park illegally and attacked a male policeman with a hammer.
The police officer issued a verbal warning to the assailant to no avail, so he drew his guns and used pepper spray to subdue him.
Another male policeman was injured during the subduing of the murderer.
After preliminary investigation, Zhong Nan was arrested on suspicion of wounding and possessing offensive weapons. The case was handed over to Kwun Tong Police District Crime Squad for follow-up.
It is understood that the assailant has a mental illness record, and the motive for committing the crime is still under investigation.
The two male policemen were soberly sent to the United Hospital for treatment.
