A student was killed and a police officer was injured in a high school shooting in Knoxville, Tennessee, USA.
The American police announced yesterday the fall of a number of victims by shooting in the school, without giving further details.
AB quoted State Investigation Bureau Director David Rausch as telling reporters that a police force came to Austin East Magnet High School after receiving reports that a student had a pistol in possession, indicating that the student did not comply with police orders to leave and surrender and instead shot them. As a result, an officer was injured.
Rauch added that the police returned fire on the attacker, which led to his death, noting that there were no other casualties.
An investigation was opened to determine the circumstances and causes of the accident.
Shooting incidents are common in the United States with the spread of a culture of violence in American society and the continuing enforcement of a law that permits the uncontrolled possession of individual weapons.
