The Department of Forestry in the Daraa Agriculture Directorate completed the implementation of the artificial afforestation plan by planting about 320 hectares of forest plantations.
The head of the forestry department, Eng. Jamil Al-Abdullah, said in a statement to SANA’s correspondent today that the cultivation operations included various locations in the governorate and popular, official and union activities participated in them, indicating that the planting production plan is continuing in the plantation nursery to produce about 500 thousand forest seedlings, of which 430,000 have been produced to date. .
Al-Abdullah explained that the department has works to be carried out throughout the year related to the development of damaged sites, and to date, 35 of the 200 hectares have been taken care of.
The department has a plan to reclaim 30 hectares, remove 5 kilometers of forest roads, and construct new roads with a length of three kilometers.
