The Russian opposition leader said he had also ordered a copy of the Koran to delve into the Holy Book of Islam, but his request was denied: "They suspected it was an inciting book."

From a post he posted on his Instagram account Alexei Navalny, the opposition leader in Russia who is imprisoned in the second penal colony in the city of Pokrov in Vladimir province, it can be concluded that he may have decided to study Torah.

Most of the post deals with the personal Koran of Nabalani, which the prison administration does not release for use, but at the end the opposition announces that he has also ordered a Torah scroll.

"When I was just imprisoned, I made my own list of improvements that I would try to implement during my imprisonment," Navalny wrote in the post.

"According to one of the sections, I must study in depth and understand the Qur'an and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad. After all, everyone talks endlessly about Islam and Muslims, and of course 90% of the litigants understand nothing about the issue. I decided to become the Koran champion among non-Muslim Russian politicians. Well, I also realized that my development as a Christian requires the study of the Koran. "

Nabalani also wrote that he has been on hunger strike for two weeks because the prison administration prevented him from visiting a doctor following the rupture of the disc from which he suffers, because he repeatedly demanded the Koran, but refused because of "the need to check if the book is not inciting."

In a letter to the prison commander, Navalny wrote: "I do not understand, what does it mean to check if the Koran is inciting? What does it look like at all? Is there a lieutenant colonel in the penitentiary, Sgt.

And if he finds one, will he forbid the Koran? "

Navalny ended his post with a smile: "And they still do not know that I also ordered Chumash with Rashi's commentary."

Nabalani was poisoned last August by Russian GSS agents with the Novichuk poison. He was in a coma, treated in Germany and returned to Russia in January. Upon his return he was arrested, charged with failing to appear for periodic review in the Russian penitentiary service (even though he was in a coma). And sent to prison.
