The town hall of Berger is closed until Tuesday inclusive.

The reason is a corona case by a manager.

Mayor Rupert Steigenberger is also in the Quran.

Berg

- The Berger town hall is closed.

Until today, Tuesday, the administration can only be reached by phone.

The reason is a corona case by a senior employee.

Except for the head of the building authority Beatrix Neubert, the management team is in quarantine, including Mayor Rupert Steigenberger.

The good news: Nobody has been seriously ill so far.

All contact persons work from home.

At an online jour fixe of the town hall leadership yesterday it was decided to cancel the council meeting scheduled for today and the committee meeting planned for next Tuesday.

All town hall employees underwent a PCR test yesterday.

If all are negative, the town hall could open again on Wednesday, said Steigenberger.

Community manager Erik Fiedler has been infected with Corona.

He was in contact with a relative over Easter.

He found out last Thursday that he had tested positive.

"We'll all go to the corona test," said Fiedler yesterday when asked.

The result was available on Friday: "My daughter and I were positive, my wife and son negative."

After the management team met for a meeting last week, almost all of them are now so-called K1 contact persons.

"We have to stay in quarantine for two weeks, so a negative test in between does not help," said Steigenberger.

He will be tested regularly, but will not be allowed out of quarantine until April 21.

The members of his family are not affected as long as he is negative.

Building authority director Beatrix Neubert, the deputy executive officer in the town hall, now runs the business.

"I was on vacation last week," she said.

The Corona case in the town hall doesn't really surprise you.

"It was clear that this would happen at some point."

Steigenberger now wants to hold a video conference every day.

The canceled council meeting is to be rescheduled as a special meeting on Tuesday, April 27th.

The most important topic is the building of the new town hall.

Steigenberger does not expect any delays due to the canceled meeting.
