A luxury apartment located on the prestigious avenue Foch in Paris housed a high-end underground gambling den: twelve people including six organizers were arrested last week by the central racing and games service.

What is striking in this affair is above all the exceptional place chosen by the criminals.
Located on avenue Foch, in the wealthy 16th arrondissement of Paris, "
it was a four-storey apartment with an interior elevator, play areas, catering, bedrooms
", described Tuesday, April 13 to AFP Commissioner Stéphane Piallat, head of the investigating service.
Young women dispensed, in particular, massages to clients, who were rather poker enthusiasts.
The place, opened "
in March, operated day and night
", continues the commissioner.
The investigation started last fall with the discovery of an illegal gambling den in Champigny-sur-Marne (Val-de-Marne).
But quickly, the criminals think bigger and rent this luxury apartment on avenue Foch.
And last week, the national BRI intervened to proceed to twelve arrests.
Six people, mainly from Val-de-Marne, admitted to being the organizers and were brought to justice.
The other six were employees (croupiers, hostesses ...).
The investigation was conducted under rogatory commission from the Créteil court.
