Greece wants to welcome tourists again soon.

Vacation countries like Spain and Croatia have been working on suitable concepts for some time in order to be able to welcome tourists again as soon as possible.
It is no different in Greece: the tourism sector normally accounts for almost a fifth of Greek economic output.
That is why the government pleaded very early on for an EU-wide vaccination certificate, which should make traveling easier.
Its introduction is planned for June 2021.
However, there should be easing for holidaymakers in Greece even before that, as has now been announced.
For corona vaccinated people: Greece vacation soon possible without quarantine
From May 14,
citizens from EU countries should be allowed to enter Greece again without the
obligation to
quarantine
, as the Greek Vice Minister Sofia Zacharaki announced, according to a report by the German Press Agency.
But there is still one condition: "The vacationers must
either be vaccinated or show a PCR-Corona test,
" she is said to have explained to the Greek news channel Skai.
Those who meet the requirements are then free to spend their holidays in Greece.
The easing should also apply to travelers from Serbia and Great Britain.
Holidaymakers from Israel have been able to return to Greece without quarantine since the end of March, provided they can show an official confirmation of a vaccination in English.
In addition, 14 days must have passed since the second vaccination.
You also need a negative corona test that is no older than 72 hours.

Although the easing is to be carried out beforehand, the Greek government still hopes for the
EU vaccination certificate
.
"We hope that this EU vaccination certificate will be available by June," said Vice Minister Zacharaki.
The "Green Vaccination Certificate" is supposed to prove vaccinations as well as negative tests or a survived Covid-19 illness.
The vaccination certificate is planned in digital form.
From the perspective of the Robert Koch Institute, Greece is currently one of the corona risk areas.
