Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit this evening (Tuesday) sent a letter to the Prime Minister, in which he wrote his opinion on the conduct of the state without a permanent Minister of Justice.
Among other things, Mandelblit stated that the political-security cabinet is not authorized to make decisions due to the absence of a permanent minister.
However, in urgent and sensitive matters, it will be possible to convene the Cabinet without a Minister of Justice, with its members composed in an equal manner of ministers "related" to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on the one hand, and Defense Minister Bnei Gantz on the other.
On the other hand, the Corona cabinet will not be able to make decisions at all in the absence of a permanent justice minister, in Mandelblit's opinion.
