All candidates for popularly elected positions in Mexico who did not submit a pre-campaign spending report renounced their right to run, says María Marván Laborde, former counselor president of the Federal Electoral Institute (IFE) - predecessor of the National Electoral Institute, INE—. In an interview with CNN, the specialist in electoral matters spoke about the decision of the Electoral Tribunal of the Judicial Power of Mexico to partially revoke the INE's resolution against Félix Salgado Macedonio, who seeks the governorship of the Mexican state of Guerrero for Morena. The INE canceled Salgado Macedonio's candidacy registration for not submitting a report on expenses prior to the campaign, as established by Mexican electoral law. As a protest, the politician stood outside the facilities of the Mexican electoral body and demanded that his candidacy be returned.
