A bus accident in the Sicsibamba district, located in the Áncash department, about 385 kilometers north of Lima, left 20 dead and 14 injured, the municipality of Parobamba reported in a statement.
According to the text, the vehicle was heading to the Peruvian capital.
"The police, mayor and doctors of Parobamba were the first to arrive, joining the aid of Pomabamba and Sihuas," said the municipality.
At the moment, it is unknown what caused the bus accident.
The Parobamba mayor's office said it offered support to transfer relatives of those affected and coffins.
