- As the police reported, the person who caused the accident, a 61-year-old from Starnberg, drove his Mercedes from the A 995 at 3:10 p.m. to the Tölzer Straße / Münchner Straße intersection and wanted to continue straight in the direction of Karwendelstraße.

In doing so, he overlooked the red traffic light that applies to him, and the Mercedes crashed head-on into the right side of the Audi of a 70-year-old from the southern Munich district, who was driving from Münchner Straße towards Tölzer Straße near Grün.

As a result of the impact, the Mercedes was steered towards Karwendelstrasse and hit a traffic light mast, which then overturned.

Accident in Taufkirchen: damage of more than 30,000 euros

The Audi driver and his 73-year-old co-driver were slightly injured in the accident and came to a Munich hospital with the ambulance service.

The Mercedes driver was uninjured.

According to the police, property damage totaling 30,000 euros was caused to the two vehicles.

The damage to the traffic light system amounts to around 5000 euros.

Both vehicles were no longer ready to drive and were towed away.

The Taufkirchen voluntary fire brigade secured the scene of the accident and cleaned the roadway from leaking operating materials.

The road maintenance department dismantled the destroyed traffic light.

According to the police, there were significant traffic disruptions during the recording of the accident.
