The sound of the siren pierces the routine and commands us to separate sand from holiness.

The sound of the siren like a cry of pain over loss, like an order to put off any occupation that now becomes secondary, like an inner voice that cries out the duty to remember.

Remember those who walked the path to the end, paving a safe path for us.

Remember those who have chosen to stand at the forefront, in combat units and risk their lives to secure generations.

Remember all the men and women soldiers, in all the units, who served the country and had it as a shield and wall.

The sound of the siren makes its way to all the borders of the country and reminds that they are safe thanks to generations of defenders.

The voice is spreading in every locality and reminds us that community life, creation and development would not have been possible without the dedication of the soldiers.

Through the windows, the voice penetrates every school and synagogue, reminding us of the duty to educate values, to volunteer for the civil service and for meaningful combat service.

The sound of the siren penetrates the heart of the friend who lost his good friend, the teacher who raised the girl who became an officer, the rabbi who taught the yeshiva student who volunteered for the patrol and the soldiers who lost their friend to the unit.

And the sound of the siren also meets the bereaved families, and only in them does he discover that there is a strong and stinging voice from him - the sound of pain and the sound of power.

The pain, which is not hard and excruciating, and the strength and resilience of the families, which is not as impressive and inspiring as them.

The voice also reminds us all that we are surrounded by challenges that require us to maintain an army that is ready for a day of battle, adapted to the challenges of the present and the future, and that the spirit of its soldiers and commanders says readiness for any mission.

And the voice that is heard precisely in this complex period of moments of disagreement and crisis, division and distance, as if calling us to unite around the common and unifying, around the memory of the fallen and the unity of purpose.

On behalf of the IDF soldiers and their commanders, I salute the fallen and bereaved families, strengthen and embrace them and the wounded who bear the scars in their souls and bodies, and pledge that we will continue to make every effort to return the captives and missing to their border.

May the memory of the fallen be blessed!
