In the United States, the Food and Drug Administration and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommend pausing the use of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine after 6 cases of a rare and serious type of blood clot have been reported in the country.
According to a joint agency statement, all 6 cases occurred among women between the ages of 18 and 48, with symptoms appearing 6 to 13 days after vaccination.
But their relationship could not be established yet.
