Injured with her Bucharest club in the quarter-finals of the Champions League, the player underwent additional examinations on Tuesday noon and the diagnosis is final.
The 34-year-old winger will therefore miss what was to be the last Olympic Games, and the last blue event of her career.
She will be operated on Wednesday and will then undergo a long rehabilitation process, indicates the French Handball Federation.
