The government is suspending flights between Brazil and France until April 19, according to the decree published this Wednesday in the Official Journal, due to concerns around the Brazilian variant of Covid-19.
“In view of the health situation in Brazil (...), the movement of people from this country to the territory of the Republic is, with the exception of those necessary for the transport of goods, prohibited until April 19 2021 at zero hour ”, is it indicated in article 1 of this decree.
However, the decree does not mention flights in the direction France-Brazil.

"We note that the situation is worsening and we have therefore decided to suspend, until further notice, all flights between Brazil and France," Prime Minister Jean Castex announced in the hemicycle on Tuesday, during the meeting. questioning session to the government at the National Assembly.
But the vagueness persists regarding flights between France and Brazil, which is not mentioned.
Secretary of State Clément Beaune said Wednesday on France 2 that France was studying repatriation solutions from Brazil for its nationals, via "particular or indirect flights", as well as the possibility of more thorough checks, for "small volumes of passengers ”, quarantines requested on arrival in France.
The health situation has continued to worsen in Brazil since February due to the emergence of a local variant of the virus, called P1, considered to be more contagious and more deadly, but still very much in the minority in France.
Many opposition officials, especially on the right, on Tuesday called for the suspension of flights with Brazil or a stricter quarantine.
