The Hong Kong epidemic has experienced four waves of ups and downs. In the third and fourth waves of the epidemic, AWE has transformed into a community treatment facility, receiving approximately 4,000 patients in total.

Li Liye, a "military strategist" and Huang Renshu alumnus who is responsible for instigating and making suggestions, described that community therapy is a new concept of "thinking out of the box". He must listen to opinions and work with frontline logistics staff. Learn by doing and improve the imperfections.

For example, the team tried to solve the patient's material problem, and the switch of the female patient's hall was always "jumping". The investigation found that female patients often brought strong hair dryers into the hall. The team set up a "blowing area" to avoid similar situations. .

Before Li Liye decided to participate in the fight against the epidemic, he was anxious due to the tremendous pressure: "I should say that I don't really want to do it? But no one has said that he needs to do such extra work. Someone has to do it." He took it. After thinking over and over again for a day, he resolutely took a step forward and accepted the challenge.

He sent a message to medical care to discover his own abilities and responsibilities in a crisis. "Human fears always appear when the incident does not happen" and will gradually disappear thereafter.

The sixth-year medical class of Huangren Middle School, Australia, enters an internship in the emergency department

Li Liye, who once studied at the Imperial College, said he was a traditional "boy school boy". He became fascinated by science when he was studying. After the Fifth Form Examination, he entered the M class (Medical, that is, the medical class) specializing in medicine.

What made him most excited at the time was to do a rat dissection experiment with his classmates.

He transferred to Australia after Form 6 for further studies, and did an internship in the emergency department, and found that his calm personality had an advantage in work.

"At the rural hospital in Australia, I had to be a doctor in the hospital to deal with traffic accidents, to check the airway, breathing, blood transfusion, etc. The others just waited for the doctor's instructions, and I found that I was able to handle it."

He returned to Hong Kong in 1998 and began serving in the Hospital Authority. He worked as a resident doctor in the Accident and Emergency Department at the Nethersole Hospital in Tai Po, and was later promoted to an associate consultant doctor.

In 2016, he was transferred to Tin Shui Wai Hospital as a consultant doctor in the emergency department, and from 2018 he also served as the deputy administrative director of the hospital.

The advantage of concurrently serving as the clinical and administrative department is a big advantage. It is commonly known as "Will not leave the ground", and I know that front-line colleagues need a lot of money.

For example, he said that when the emergency department of Tin Shui Wai Hospital opened, services from 9 to 5 were provided.

However, there are already queues at 8 o'clock in the morning every day, and the "Qing Ren Long" will not be completed until 7 o'clock in the evening.

Li Liye didn't want his colleagues to work overtime, so he changed from one shift to two shifts, hoping that his colleagues would be happy at work.

Epidemic stabilizes, stays alert for danger, conceives "community isolation facility"

Li Liye's anti-epidemic work started at the airport temporary testing center.

He is still impressed. At about 9 pm on March 18 last year, he received a call from the HA headquarters, inviting him to inspect the venue at the airport at 10 pm.

The authorities hope to set up temporary testing facilities within one to two days to cope with the second wave of the epidemic.

After hearing the news, Li Liye was anxious all day, "I should say I don't really want to do it?" But he thought that someone would have to bear the burden, so he decided to accept the challenge the next day.

The epidemic began to stabilize in April. He and his team saw the outbreak in the labor dormitory in Singapore, and they began to think about setting up "community isolation facilities" to provide after-hospital services so that patients can be isolated there when they are close to recovery; and "community treatment facilities". , Provide pre-hospital services and directly accept confirmed cases.

The third wave was once a hundred people were waiting to be admitted to the hospital. New thinking accepts patients at the source

The Hospital Authority prepared for a month and opened the Lei Yue Mun community isolation facility on July 24.

In the third wave of the epidemic, 200 to 300 patients were stranded in the community. At that time, the community isolation facility could only accommodate 200 patients at a time, and the number of patients in a few days has exceeded 100.

In addition, it was very hot in the summer. The medical staff put on a full set of protective clothing and shuttled between individual houses. Some people were dehydrated and dizzy from the heat, which made Li Liye feel uncomfortable.

He and his team understood that the problem of delayed admission could not be solved by post-hospital services alone, so they decided to accept patients directly at the source.

The preparation time was only two weeks, and the Hospital Authority opened the Yabo community treatment facility on August 1.

Li Liye recalled that he had encountered countless difficulties, including hardware materials, staff support, transportation and meal arrangements.

Looking back, Yijia felt that the team handled the drying within one to two weeks, which was amazing.

Community therapy is a brand-new concept. He chose to listen to opinions and learn while working with front-line logistics staff to improve the imperfections.

For example, the authorities did not accurately grasp the manpower at first, and only cared about the medical staff, and did not consider the need for support and civilian staff. As a result, nurses had to take care of unfamiliar paperwork and had to allocate more civilian staff.

Not a girl patient brings a powerful hair dryer into the museum and calls the switch often "jump cord"

In terms of caring for patients, he found that electrical switch "jumping" often appeared in the pavilion that received female patients, but that did not happen in the pavilion for male patients.

Later, the team learned that many female patients had brought strong hair dryers to Yabo, and used lead jumpers at the same time.

In view of this, the team set up a "blowing zone" to avoid similar situations from happening again.

Initially, the patient did not bring enough personal belongings, and the nurses' station gradually became fully available, providing rechargeable tools, eye masks, slippers and hygiene products.

In addition, for ethnic minority patients, he and his team designed a special meal that meets their religious belief requirements.

Li Liye recalled that a couple had contracted the epidemic together. The husband's condition deteriorated and was admitted to the hospital. His wife was very sad and wanted to be with him in the hospital.

Although she might not be able to see her husband when she went to the hospital, she felt closer, and the team assisted in the arrangement.

He emphasized that "helping as much as possible" is the general direction of the service. "We have many reasons not to help, but when a colleague asked, I asked him to do it, and I didn't want to help the patient."

Li Liye was transferred to the headquarters of the Hospital Authority to serve as the chief administrative manager of the integrated care plan.

On the day of the visit, he returned to the Imperial College where he was studying in middle school.

The Lei Yue Mun community isolation facility served a total of about 230 patients; the Yabo Community Treatment Facility has served about 4,000 patients, receiving about 800 patients in the third wave and more than 3,000 patients in the fourth wave.

Li Liye believes that when faced with a crisis, many people will retreat based on a natural reaction, and the problem will be left unattended.

He sent messages to doctors and nurses, friends and Huangren Junior Brothers to discover their abilities and responsibilities under the crisis.

People's fears always appear before the incident, and there will be no rush.

Now that the Yabo community treatment facilities are in standby mode, Li Liye also has new opportunities. Starting from Monday (12th), he will be transferred to the headquarters of the Hospital Authority as the chief administrative manager of the comprehensive care plan. He is mainly responsible for cross-specialty networking services, such as Stroke, 24-hour communication, cancer care, etc.
