Before resuming his usual activities this Thursday, after the medical discharge after recovering from coronavirus, Alberto Fernández will advance in the next few hours with
new restrictions to control the contagion curve in this second wave
.
Without signs or collaboration from the governors to face the political cost, the President decided to go ahead and
extend the limits to the night
that he had imposed this Friday.
The head of state polishes at this time
a new decree
in which he will set new business hours, for
bars and restaurants
in the Metropolitan Area of Buenos Aires, the main source of infections.
The idea, in principle, would be to
set the time of 20 as the limit for the operation of gastronomy
, the activity that the Government considers to be key when it comes to social relaxation.
The schedule is even more extreme than the days the Government had tried to reach a consensus with the City and the Province.
On that occasion, there was talk of 22.
"It will be between 20 and 22"
, confirmed a high government source, with permanent dialogue with the President in the last hours.
The decision, however, now
does not include the participation of the Buenos Aires head of government
, Horacio Rodríguez Larreta;
and the Buenos Aires governor, Axel Kicillof.
They will only be notified of the measure, once the president signs the decree.
More: at Casa Rosada they
do not hide their discomfort at the position of both leaders
regarding controls.
“The President waited until today (for this Wednesday) for the governors and mayors to make decisions.
Well, as it did not happen, he
will decide
, they confirmed in the Government.
The DNU would come out no later than this Thursday.
Regarding the political cost that he will face, they warned that "he already said it the other day: he
does not care about losing an election
, but taking care of the health of Argentines."
This measure will give the Government air to
postpone definitions regarding the passage to a hard quarantine
: the Government indicates that this is "a silver bullet" that can only be used in an extremely extreme situation, after the prolonged isolation that occurred in 2020 and given the lack of resources to face the economic crisis.
