".
Roselyne Bachelot, who returned to the Ministry of Culture on Monday after being hospitalized for Covid-19, was greeted with applause when she spoke.
She thanked "

I can tell you that in 2024 the Notre-Dame de Paris cathedral will be reopened
", declared Roselyne Bachelot, who is due to go to the site on Thursday with President Emmanuel Macron, two years to the day after the fire which has partially damaged the building.

The President of the Republic has requested a reconstruction of the cathedral in five years.
The president of the Public Establishment, General Jean-Louis Georgelin, reiterated that the cathedral will indeed reopen in 2024 and that a Te deum will be celebrated there on April 16 of that year.
But the site work will not all be completed by this deadline.
