The Presidential Medical Unit of the Presidency of Argentina reported in a statement that, 12 days after having tested positive for the coronavirus antigen, President Alberto Fernández will be discharged and would be resuming his "usual activities " this Thursday.
The president "is in good health, evolving favorably, asymptomatic today" and will continue with medical controls, the statement said.
Fernández reported on April 2 on his Twitter account that he had presented with a headache and fever.
Since then he was isolated.
Last week, the president announced new measures to mitigate the impact of the covid-19 pandemic.
He said at that time that Argentina entered the "second wave" of infections.
Fernández announced the prohibition of traffic between midnight and 6 in the morning in the areas of the country where there is a greater epidemiological and sanitary risk.
The measure will be in effect until April 30.
He also announced the suspension of social activities in private homes, as well as the closure of bars and restaurants from 11 at night.
