That was just one of his last wishes, which he is said to have uttered in the sick bed.
London - On Friday April 9th, Prince Philip passed away at the age of 99.
The Queen's husband had previously been hospitalized for some time after heart surgery.
A wave of sympathy from around the world followed.
The Pope sent his condolences by telegram, and the royal houses paid visits to the Queen.
Despite a request to the contrary, fans laid flowers in front of Buckingham Palace, and heads of state such as Angela Merkel expressed their condolences.
Prince Charles dedicates touching words to Prince Philip
The son of Prince Philip, Prince Charles, who is currently number one in the line of succession, was touched in a speech by the sympathy after the death of his father.
On TV, he thanked the Royals with touching words: "My dear papa was a very special person who, I think, would be amazed above all at the reaction and the moving things that were said about him," said Charles .
The family is "deeply grateful" for this.
He missed his father "tremendously".
Immediately after his death became known, Charles visited his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, at Windsor Castle, where Philip had slept peacefully.
Prince Philip: He wanted a private memorial service
In a special broadcast on the
BBC
, Charles then said that his father had wished to be remembered not only as a companion of the Queen, but also as a person of his own.
Prince Philip is said to have wished for a small memorial service for his funeral with little fuss at Windsor Castle, which is said to have a military touch.
This wish will probably come true next Saturday, April 17th.
Prince Harry is said to have already arrived from America for the funeral service.
Prince Philip allegedly expressed last wishes in an emotional father-son conversation
According to a report by the "
Dailymail
", this was not the only request that the Queen consort expressed before his death.
As an insider describes, there should have been an emotional conversation between Philip and his son Charles in which Prince Philip asked him to take care of the Queen as soon as he was dead.
He then made recommendations to Prince Charles on how he should lead the royal family through the years to come.
Allegedly, the 99-year-old also expressed his wish to die within the walls of Windsor Castle while in bed.
This last wish could also be granted to Prince Philip.
