It's a spectacular find: in Neufahrn near Freising, archaeologists have come across bones that are around 1200 years old.

From the time of the man who bequeathed his property in Neufahrn ("Niuuiura") to Freising Cathedral and Bishop Atto in 804 and thus ensured the first documentary mention of Neufahrn, current excavation work on the area of the former Neufahrn parsonage reveals three complete skeletons found.
The bone finds, which were discovered in an early medieval settlement from the Carolingian era and allow a glimpse into the beginnings of Neufahrn, are around 1200 years old.
In addition to numerous post holes, the archaeologists also found twelve pit houses and wells on the 3000 square meter area.
It can be assumed that the traces of settlement that have now been excavated were part of the early medieval village center around the church, as local researcher Ernest Lang classifies the finds.
Sensational find in Neufahrn: skeletons bring back memories of earlier finds
The current excavations with finds from around 800 AD corroborated the documents about the early Bavarian history of Neufahrn.
Two years ago, Lang recalls, three pit houses were found on the neighboring property, and early medieval row graves were discovered 50 years ago on today's Lindenweg.

The large area on Pfarrweg, where a total of 28 new apartments are to be built in the near future, is therefore part of the early medieval village on which the old Neufahrner vicarage was built many centuries later.
It was demolished some time ago, and archaeologists discovered the finds from around 800 during the construction work. The three skeletons are a woman (between the ages of 30 and 50), an older and a younger man.
