With the participation of about 75 national industrial, commercial and food companies from various Syrian governorates, the "Ramadan Charitable Market", which is being held by the Ministry of Endowments, Tartous Governorate, and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the governorate, was opened today in the old Tartous hall on the sea corniche, which continues until the end of the blessed month of Ramadan.

Dr. Muhammad Abd al-Sattar, the Minister of Endowments, confirmed in a statement to reporters after the inauguration that this Ramadan market came as a result of great efforts and as a complementary work, referring to the meeting that brought the First Lady Asma al-Assad together with the activists.

Economic, social affairs, endowments and local administration to confront the economic blockade and the economic war on Syria, adding that these markets and charitable work in the country are ethical, religious and patriotic work, and the success of these charitable initiatives gives us hope for the whole year, not just in the month of Ramadan, in terms of lowering prices.

In turn, President of Tartous Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mazen Hammad, indicated in a similar statement the importance of the initiative in light of the difficult circumstances that our beloved country is going through, in which we are in dire need of such initiatives in implementation of the ideas put forward by Mrs. Asma al-Assad to carry out such initiatives and activate them in order to deepen the efforts of charitable work. He pointed to subsequent initiatives that started today in the Ramadan Charity Market, so that the second charitable market will be launched next week in Al-Talaea Park, in addition to other initiatives that will be announced soon, to be closer to the various segments of society and those in need.

Hammad considered that the Chamber of Commerce and the various economic activities must take their role today to be on the side of the country that has given a lot, saying that it is our duty as merchants under conditions of war and pressure to return the favor and fulfill our beloved country, Syria.

The owners and delegates of the participating events emphasized the importance of the market in light of the difficult living conditions that everyone suffers from in order to provide national products at a cost price, as Amir Hegazy, representative of the New Park Company for Cheese and Dairy, said, while Rasha Nuzha, a representative of Hussein Al-Nasser Company, considered providing basic materials such as legumes, rice and mortadella with discounts of about 20 With the aim of reducing the financial burden on the citizen who has been exhausted by the high prices, while Al Fares Broiler and Fodder Company provided its products from broilers at prices less than the price outside the charitable market by about 30% with the provision of health conditions for preserving the material to ensure that it reaches the consumer safely, especially as it is the most important material for every family.

The representative of the world of spices, Hussam El-Din, expressed his happiness at his participation for the second time in Tartous Governorate, pointing out that the company provides the most important food item in the holy month of Ramadan, which is soups of all kinds at a price less than the market by 10 percent.

Karim Dates also offered a wide variety of dates, raisins and molasses, as they are the first present on the Ramadan tables, with discounts reaching about 20 percent.

On its first day, the market witnessed a remarkable turnout from citizens who expressed their satisfaction with everything that would reduce their burdens in light of difficult economic conditions and the accompanying insane rise in prices, as Abdulaziz Ayyash said, while Iqbal Al-Hassan found that there are various varieties of food commodities, detergents and meat at reduced prices. It is a good gesture that makes us feel that the concerned authorities and economic actors are standing by the citizen's side, so that he can buy everything he needs in the month of goodness with the initiatives of good people.

The opening was attended by the Governor of Tartous, Attorney Safwan Abu Sa’a, the Secretary of the party’s branch, Muhammad Habib Hussein, the President of the City Council, Judge Muhammad Zain, the Director of Endowments, Abdullah al-Sayed, the Chairman and members of the Provincial Council, and the Director and members of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
