After the unrest worsened and protests continued over the murder of African-American youth Doant Wright in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the city police chief announced his resignation with the policeman who shot and killed the young man.
"Minneapolis Police Chief Tim Janon and Police Officer Kim Potter submitted their resignations after the city council issued a decision to dismiss them," Reuters quoted Brooklyn Center Mayor Mike Elliott as telling reporters.
Yesterday, the US police arrested dozens of people and used tear gas to disperse protests denouncing the crime of killing Young Wright at the hands of Potter, who brought a gun to him for a traffic offense committed by him and shot him once to kill him, and later discovered that she had made a mistake in pointing the weapon and thought it was an electric stun gun.
