The Tourism Commission today (14) launched the second phase of the "City Scenery" tourism project, adding "AR clocks" at designated locations in Central, The Peak, Sham Shui Po, Jordan and Yau Ma Tei for citizens and tourists to use Smartphones, through augmented reality (AR) and multimedia technologies, experience the combination of panoramic images of Hong Kong’s history and real panoramic views of the scene.

The "City Scenery" tourism project developed and produced by Professor Shao Zhifei, Professor Yang Jianwen, Chair Professor of Media Art at the School of Creative Media, City University of Hong Kong, commissioned by the Tourism Commission. The first phase of the project has been held at seven designated locations in Central and Tsim Sha Tsui on the 25th of last month. Launched at designated locations.

The Tourism Commission today announced the launch of the second phase, and 15 new designated locations have been added.

The newly added designated locations for "City View" include Chater Gardens in Central, Lion Pavilion on the Peak (with two "AR clocks"), Tai Po Road, Sham Shui Po (near YHA Mei Ho House Youth Hostel), Tai Po Road / Castle Peak Road Rest Garden (near Garden Centre), Castle Peak Road (near the entrance of Upper Lee House Garden), Nam Cheong Street (near the entrance of Nan Cheong Street Rest Garden), Lai Chi Kok Road (at the junction with Shek Kip Mei Street), Lai Chi Kok Road (near Lei Sang Chun) , Waterloo Road (near Yau Ma Tei Fruit Market), Public Square Street (near Yau Ma Tei Reporting Centre), Public Square Street (near Tin Hau Temple), Nathan Road (junction with Gascoigne Road), Jordan Road (near Temple Street entrance) ) And Canton Road (near the Xiqu Center).

Citizens and travelers only need to use their smartphones to download the "City View" mobile app, scan the "AR Clock" installed on the tourist signs at the above designated locations, and enjoy the integration of historical photos or paintings by young Hong Kong artists 360-degree historical panoramic image.

The app is also equipped with a self-portrait function, and citizens and travelers can share the experience of the "city scene" with their friends through social media platforms.

The "City View" mobile app can be downloaded for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play, and citizens and travelers can also use the "City View" website (cityintime.hk) for remote experience.
