The main teachers' unions, including Snes and Snalc, have been demanding for several weeks the cancellation of this new test, scheduled for mid-June.
To hear them, high school students are unevenly prepared, since some have been able to go fully to class, especially in private education, while others have only gone one day out of two or every other week since November, due to
locally decided
"half-gauge" operation

"We must be careful,"
insists Sophie Vénétitay du Snes, because the oral,
"particularly socially discriminating",
could disadvantage students.
Wanted by the Minister of National Education as part of the lycée reform, the test consists for the high school students to speak while standing for twenty minutes on a subject selected from two prepared during the year and to argue in front of a jury of two teachers.
