What does the Lebendige Altstadt Wolfratshausen (LAW) association actually do.

For the 15th birthday, the members came up with something to introduce themselves despite Corona.

Wolfratshausen - The members of the Lebendige Altstadt Wolfratshausen (LAW) association are like so many birthday children: They have not really been able to celebrate their special day because of Corona for over a year.

“But we wanted to do something,” says club chairman Hans-Werner Kuhlmann.

The LAW was 15 years old last year.

"And so we looked back on time: What have we achieved and what do we still want to achieve?" The result can be seen in her eyes: "We were amazed ourselves at what we had initiated."

From the successes to date and the goals for the future, an information showcase has been created, which can now be seen in the Rathauspassage.

"Here we introduce ourselves, and at the same time we want citizens to come to us with their ideas," explains Kuhlmann.

Various themed trails such as the forest nature trail and the rafting trail, as well as projects such as the art mile or the “Walk of Fame” can be traced back to the initiative of LAW and its partners.

Another example is the renovation of the so-called Roma intersection.

"In 2007 we delivered the first surveys for the need to relieve the crossroads with a separate right-turn lane," reads one of the display boards.

“The implementation took place in 2020.” The pedestrian guidance system is also based on the LAW.

On the agenda for the next few years are a recreational area on the western bank of the Loisach, a lively, attractive city center, a traffic-calmed market street, sufficient parking space and public WiFi.

"We are currently waiting for the results of public participation in the inner city to be made public," adds LAW board member Dietlind Diepen.

"Then we will see where and how we can also take action."
