A somewhat disoriented woman chose the wrong road on the A8 near Irschenberg.
There was a small accident, whereupon the 86-year-old turned around without further ado.
Irschenberg - An 86-year-old woman drove on Tuesday afternoon, April 13th at the entrance to Irschenberg on the A8 towards Munich.
However, the lady from the Miesbach district chose the wrong street and ended up in the lane towards Salzburg, as the motorway police announced in a press report.
The woman was driving in the opposite direction of travel on the left lane of the road.
A8 near Irschenberg: wrong-way driver causes accident - no injuries
An oncoming VW from Rosenheim was able to avoid the wrong-way driver just in time.
Nevertheless, there was a slight contact between the two cars and luckily nobody was injured.
So far, no further injured parties have become known.
Shortly afterwards, the 86-year-old must have turned on the autobahn, because she drove back towards Salzburg and left the A8 at the Irschenberg junction.
There they were stopped by the first local police.
The wrong-way driver made a disoriented impression.
Her son picked her up later.
While on the highway, the officials took the woman's driver's license by order of the public prosecutor.
The Holzkirchen autobahn police are now investigating the threat to road traffic.
Wrong-way driver on Irschenberg: After an accident, she simply turns around
As soon as the police found out about the wrong-way driver around 3 p.m., the officers blocked the left lane with the help of the electronic signs above the motorway.
According to the police, the instruction was implemented correctly, so that the dangerous situation was facilitated.
To complete the investigation, the Holzkirchen Autobahn Police Station asks any other parties involved in the accident and witnesses to the incident on 08024/9073 0.
The Federal Police in Irschenberg recently reported several people whose trip was presumably organized by smugglers.
The authorities are investigating the international case.
