Accused of having neglected the elderly during the Covid, several dozen nursing homes in France are to date the subject of a complaint and, according to some lawyers, the list should grow.
"Families who were in a period of mourning and who did not have the heart to turn to the courts are now prepared to do so,"
says Me Fabien Arakelian, whose cabinet centralizes around forty cases.
"The employees of these establishments are starting to talk"
, he continues.
For Maryse Gautier, the head of the Association of Solidarity of Families and Friends of People Welcomed in EHPAD in the city of Paris (Asfapad), we must break with this omerta that reigns in these structures, already before the Covid.
It worsened during the health crisis and plunged families into disarray and horror.
