The former Wiedemann sanatorium in Ambach has recently received increasing numbers of fans of so-called "lost places".
The owners are not enthusiastic about it.
Every offense is indicated.
Münsing - Time and again, unauthorized persons roam the buildings of the former Wiedemann sanatorium in Ambach.
Last weekend, the police caught several onlookers and photographers who had broken into the area described in a book as the "Lost Place".
Terrain is a construction site
The property with the still standing, old clinic houses belongs to the Kuratorium Wohnen im Alter (KWA) from Munich.
The company would like to build a senior housing estate there.
When asked by our newspaper, KWA chairman Horst Schmieder is of course not enthusiastic about the latest incidents.
“The fact that people illegally enter our property to meet there or to take photos is not only a nuisance, but also criminal recklessness,” says Schmieder.
After all, the abandoned and thoroughly cleared buildings by KWA are construction sites that pose a certain risk of accidents.
We report all violations of the law.
KWA chairman Horst Schmieder
Construction fences and signs would actually prevent or forbid access.
But time and again people would ignore the fences and even throw in window panes to gain entry into the houses.
"It is irresponsible to draw amateur photographers' attention to the property in a book and to lure them there," says the KWA CEO.
He points out that the police take the personal details of intruders, investigate them and report the crimes to the KWA.
"We report all violations of the law," emphasizes Schmieder.
The crimes committed last weekend ranged from trespassing to suspected arson.
Resuscitation will take time
According to the KWA, it may take a while before the “lost place” is revived: There is a building permit, ”says Schmieder.
The municipality first publicly displayed the development plan for the area last year and recently dealt with the objections in the municipal council.
A second interpretation now follows.
In the meantime, according to Mayor Michael Grasl, they are working on the implementation contract with KWA.
City hall chief Grasl also regrets the recent incidents, but explains that it is not the responsibility of the municipality to protect private property from access.
