Last Friday (March 9), Tourism Minister Bernd Buchholz (FDP) announced that in April and May four regions on the North and Baltic Seas would open to holidaymakers as part of model projects - including the inner Bay of Lübeck, the resort of Büsum and the Schlei -Region with Eckernförde and the district of North Friesland with the island of Sylt.
However, two of these projects have now been postponed.

"The opening should run sensibly, we don't want to break it over our knees," said Timmendorfer tourism director Joachim Nitz of the newspaper.
Apparently, some
organizational matters
still have to be
clarified: For example, it must be ensured that the health department can follow up contacts and that the 300 participating companies need a special permit, which takes time.
The opening on April 26 was initially set with reservations.
A decision should therefore be made on April 20th.
André Rosinski, head of tourism for the Bay of Lübeck, said, according to the NDR, that the
increasing number of infections
has to be kept in mind again and again.
The decision was made in consultation with the health department and the Lübecker Bucht tourism agency.
Vacation on the North Sea: Büsum is now expected to open in May
The Büsum model region is also postponing openings in tourism.
The background to this is an increasing incidence in the Dithmarschen district.
Now the model project should start on May 10th at the earliest
, as Büsum's mayor Hans-Jürgen Lütje (FWB) announced according to an NDR report: “It is no good for anyone if we open now and then after one, two, three or five days have to close again. ”Ultimately, that is bad for the restaurants, hoteliers and guests - as well as for the image of the region.
The decision was made in consultation with the Ministry of Tourism and the Dithmarschen District Health Office.
According to the German press agency, Olaf Raffel, managing director of the Büsum municipality, said: "It would be fatal to open now and have to close the bulkheads again shortly."

Schlei region is sticking to plans for the time being - model projects can be canceled at any time
The Schlei region with Eckernförde is sticking to its plans:
From April 19,
tourists should be able to go on holiday again.
"The number of bookings is now skyrocketing," said Stefan Borgmann, the tourism manager of the Ostseebad, according to NDR.
In addition to the accommodation providers that belong to the urban area of Eckernförde, camping sites are also allowed to open again.
"A sensible corona concept" is important.
The model project is scheduled to run from April 19 to May 15.

Conversely, the project could also be terminated prematurely if the local health department submits its veto, said tourism minister Bernd Buchholz when the model regions were announced.
This also applies to the other model projects in Schleswig-Holstein.
Sylt wants to welcome tourists again from May
For the district of North Friesland with the holiday island of Sylt, an opening was planned a little later from the start - planned for May 1st.
Nothing has changed on this date for the time being.
