Shopping is only possible with a negative quick test result: Tölzer shops remain empty

In Bad Tölz, too, the stricter hygiene rules have been in effect since Thursday, which only allow shopping in many shops with a negative corona quick test result.

This has consequences.

Bad Tölz - The Tölzer Marktstrasse was deserted, the customers could be counted on one hand.

Ivonne Elsner, branch manager at the Tölzer Schuhhof, understands this: “I wouldn't be tested just to shop quickly.” Daniela Meixner, branch manager at the Tölzer underwear store Hunkemöller, leans against a lingerie stand and talks to Anja Lehmann, owner of the Cecil textile shop on the other side of Marktstrasse.

Apart from the two bosses there is no one to talk to.

Customers?

Nothing.

"I had to send away all the people who were there because they didn't have a quick test result," says Lehmann.

By 2 p.m., not a single customer had strayed into the shop.

A customer made an appointment for the later afternoon.

She doesn't want to enter the shop either, but rather to have the goods handed over to her at the door.

“We are there from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., but it's not profitable,” says Lehmann.

After corona tightening: "Nobody does the quick test"

It didn't look any better in the Cecil clothing store.

Due to a lack of customers, it is only open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Anja Lehmann has sent all employees home.

“Nobody does the quick test,” she stated.

She had sold a single item of clothing by the afternoon.

No matter how small the number of customers, she wants to keep her business open, “because I own the shop and I have to make sure that it works somehow”.

You could imagine shortening the opening times even further and hanging your cell phone number on the shop window.

"If someone wants to have an appointment, I can come here."

Only a few click & collect customers in Tölz bookstore

When asked how many customers were there today, Christine Gaßel from the Rupprecht bookstore answered with a laugh.

She points inside the shop: “All of our customers crowd around the corner back there.” Ernst adds, in fact, nobody comes into the bookstore because nobody wants to be tested specifically for a purchase.

Customers only come occasionally to pick up a book ordered online.

Nevertheless, one thing is certain for them: "We will keep the business open as long as we can."

The record holder in terms of frequency was the Tölzer Schuhhof, where three customers were shopping by the afternoon.

“Very modest,” comments branch manager Ivonne Elsner.

If you look at the personnel, operating and rental costs, it makes no sense to open it.

She could also imagine hanging a phone number in the window.

"If a customer comes, I could do business - I don't live far away."

"The way things are going now, it is not worth switching on the lights"

As in all Tölz shops, almost no customers got lost for “Sport Peter”.

"The way things are going now, switching on the lights is not profitable," says owner Peter von der Wippel.

In his opinion, the fact that the majority of the shops remained closed spreads additional sadness.

The sports shop owner hopes for a bit of improvement when the announced rapid test station at Isarkai opens: “Maybe then word will get around that you can continue shopping with us.” Wippel makes no secret of his critical attitude: “If Merkel enforced, the opening with a negative rapid test result remains a short interlude anyway.

But next week it will be completely locked. "

But there are also many businesses in which a visit is still possible without a negative rapid test result - for example supermarkets, beverage stores, petrol stations, drugstores or even hairdressers.

"We have not changed anything compared to the last few weeks," emphasizes Doris Paintinger, head of the Tölzer "Hair & Flair".

Nevertheless, she noticed a decrease in the number of customers.

The reason for this is probably the great uncertainty: “People ask: Do you still have any questions?

How long are you still open?

When do you have to lock up - there is a single question mark in people's minds. ”Many people simply“ don't feel like it ”anymore and don't want to go shopping.

Older people in particular often do not know where to get tested.
