A stand of solidarity in Gaza in support of the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli jails

Hundreds of Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip today took a solidarity stand in support of the Palestinian prisoners in the Israeli occupation detention camps.

During the stand held in front of the headquarters of the International Committee of the Red Cross west of Gaza City on the occasion of the Palestinian Prisoner's Day, the participants emphasized that the Palestinian prisoners are subjected to severe violations and brutal practices in the occupation prisons, amid deliberate medical negligence against them.

The participants called on the international community, human rights and humanitarian institutions and the International Red Cross to shoulder their responsibilities and urgently intervene to save the prisoners' lives, provide them with protection, and put pressure on the occupation to release them.

4,600 Palestinian prisoners inside the Israeli occupation prisons face harsh conditions of detention, and 1,800 prisoners suffer from multiple diseases due to the spread of epidemics, among them about 700 prisoners need urgent treatment, especially cases of cancer, kidney failure and paraplegia.
