In March it still looked as if the increasing need for care could not be met.

But the KJFV and Fritz Meixner have found solutions.

Wolfratshausen

- Schoolchildren have never been out on the streets after class in Wolfratshausen: For years, the Children's and Youth Association (KJFV) has been able to cover the afternoon care needs. And although the need will increase massively in the coming school year, it remains the same: every child can be cared for - even though it hadn't even looked like it in March. There are currently almost 50 places missing in the club's after-school facilities. In the most recent culture committee meeting, however, the KJFV boss Fritz Meixner presented a timetable to ensure supplies.

The association is upgrading in two places - large investments and construction measures are not necessary for this.

As Meixner reported, the elementary and middle school in Waldram helps the association: Due to the increase in the facility, it is possible to convert a classroom on the first floor into a group room for the day care center.

Up to 25 students could be looked after there in the future.

"We can definitely cover the demand in Waldram with this," emphasized Meixner.

It is imperative that we implement the school companion idea.

The KJFV would like to accommodate another after-school care group in the La Vida youth center on Josef-Bromberger-Weg. In the basement rooms provided for this purpose, an outside group of lunchtime care is currently being taken care of. These children - they are only first graders - will in future have to wander to the containers on Königsdorfer Straße, where the other groups of lunchtime care will be at home. The city expects 20 to 25 additional after-school care places for the elementary and middle school on Hammerschmiedweg from this castling. "The technical supervision of the district office has confirmed this number to us," said Meixner. The innovations "might just be enough" to accommodate all children.

Just a month ago Meixner gave the alarm to the culture committee: 256 after-school care places will be required from September, currently only 210 are available in Loisachstadt.

Third Mayor Annette Heinloth praised the fact that the KJFV boss (again) conjured up a cheap solution so quickly.

A few small steps are necessary for the plan to work as Meixner presented it: “We don't need any structural investments,” he emphasized.

However, the committee would have to approve the conversion of the rooms under building law.

In addition, a solution is to be found as to how the first graders from elementary and middle school on Hammerschmiedweg can safely get to the containers for lunchtime care in the future.

Crossing the busy Sauerlacher Straße is simply very dangerous for six or seven year olds.

Meixner also presented an idea for this: “It is imperative that we implement the school companion idea.” A first attempt by the association has shown that this offer cannot be filled with volunteers alone.

Meixner therefore suggested an expense allowance for the volunteers who, after school, in signal vests and with a traffic bell, ensure more safety for the little ones.

“We want to get this off the ground,” he emphasized.
