The Times Square in New York was painted blue and white tonight (Sunday) and opened the Independence Day celebrations of the Israeli-American Jewish community in the United States, organized by the Israeli-American community organization IAC as part of the Celebrate Israel events. Adam, and in the artistic program, Israeli music was played, a performance by dancers, drummers, Israeli flags, and 73 blue-and-white helium balloons that were blown into the sky. 

As requested in Times Square, the famous dolls in the square were joined by Benjamin Zeev Herzl, Golda Meir and David Ben-Gurion.

Pictures of Israeli artists, photos and videos of community members, Israelis and American Jews living across New York were projected on the giant screens in the Reuters building in the square. 

The festivities opened at 11:30 a.m. (local time), with a convoy of cars crossing Manhattan and passing major arteries in the city with Israeli flags and Israeli music and joining a party in Times Square. 

In addition to New York, the Celebrate Israel Festival has been held today at dozens of drive-in events across the United States, in various cities including: Boston, Las Vegas, Denver, Los Angeles, Washington, Atlanta, Orlando, Houston, Tenplay, Rochester, It will culminate in a festive international historical performance with the participation of Israeli artists that will be broadcast all over the United States from the nation's buildings in Jerusalem and will be screened on huge screens tonight, with the participation of Idan Raichel, Sarit Hadad, Rami Kleinstein and the band Tislam.

This is a beach-to-beach hybrid event, happening for the first time in the Jewish-American world. 

On the eve of Independence Day, famous buildings and sites throughout the United States were illuminated in blue and white in honor of the State of Israel, at the initiative of the Israel-American Community Organization IAC.

Well-known sites and major buildings highlighted include Los Angeles (California) City Hall, Las Vegas City Hall (Nevada), Denver City Hall (Colorado), Cleveland (Ohio) Terminal Tower, Boston City Hall, Fall River Bridge and Leonard Bridge. Boston (Massachusetts), Rockville (Maryland) City Hall, which represents the Washington, D.C. area, the Orlando (Florida) light tower, the Houston (Texas) City Hall, and several other states in the state of New Jersey, and more.
