The Army Day parade provided Iranian rulers with an opportunity to demonstrate their strength, following the embarrassment caused by the attack on Natanz • Along with posters against Israel, Tehran unveiled new anti-aircraft systems
The Iranian Ministry of Defense announced today (Sunday) that the Iranian army unveiled a range of new weapons during the Army Day parade in the capital Tehran, in front of the President of the country, Hassan Rouhani and senior military and government officials.
A statement from the Iranian Ministry of Defense, published in the Tassanim news agency, stated that the Yulifkar missile used in Yemen was first exposed during the march.
The announcement claims that it is a short-range ballistic missile that can be connected to a variety of optimistic means and launch systems.
Alongside the "Zolipkar" were displayed a variety of anti-aircraft missiles, which were carried on trucks during the parade as well as several ballistic missiles, drones and other weapons made by Tehran.
The parade also featured anti-Israel propaganda posters, the most prominent of which was placed on top of a truck with a large letter on the background of the flag of the State of Israel.
The parade takes place a few days after the attack on the uranium enrichment facility in Natanz, an attack in which senior officials in Tehran blamed Israel and called for revenge on the Jewish state.
Earlier in the day, Taviran authorities provided additional information about the Iranian suspect involved in the Natanz incident, Ali Raza Karimi, and it was alleged that he managed to escape the country through one of Iran's major airports without the authorities being able to locate him.
