The state-owned Russian diamond production company, Alrosa, announced that it will offer a rare 100,94 carat rough diamond for sale at Christie's Magnificent Jewels auction on May 12 in Geneva.
Sputnik quoted the company as saying that the "Spectacle" diamond, which weighs 207.29, earrings, was extracted in 2016 from the legendary Zarnica tube, the first elementary diamond deposits discovered in Russia in 1954.
The company indicated that the specialists worked for more than a year and a half to produce the piece that received the highest grades from the experts of "GAA" in terms of color and clarity, and obtained the "D" mark, meaning completely colorless, and the "A" mark without internal impurities.
For his part, CEO of the company Sergey Evanon pointed out that this diamond is a "true miracle of nature" cut by a human hand of an amazing size along with unmatched color and clarity characteristics and the flawless source guarantee makes its appearance a unique event.
