Israel signed tonight (Monday) with a modern company an agreement to supply vaccines against the corona virus by the end of 2022. This, after earlier today the country signed a similar agreement with Pfizer.
The vaccines were purchased from the amount left in the budget surplus, and do not require government approval.
In the agreement between Israel and Pfizer, it was also agreed on the existence of an option to purchase millions of other vaccine doses, and that the vaccines purchased and those signed as an option will be adapted to variant treatments.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said in response to the agreement with Pfizer that "there were some obstacles in Israel that we had to overcome, and we found a way to overcome them. If there are no surprises in the form of variant Corona that the vaccines do not overcome."
