After it was closed to passengers due to the restrictions of the corona plague in Israel, the Ben Gurion Airport station will be open for operations on Thursday, Israel Today has learned.
According to a source at Israel Railways, from April 22, the Ben Gurion Airport station will be opened to passengers, with all trains in the 1XX and 7XX series stopping at the station according to the planned schedule.
During the first wave of the Corona epidemic, the Ministry of Transportation decided to close the Ben Gurion Airport train station to those arriving on flights to Israel.
In light of the steep decline in corona morbidity data in Israel following the vaccination campaign, it was decided to restore activity at the station. The return of activity was delayed due to discussions at the Ministry of Transport. The dilemma concerned passengers who are not vaccinated or recovering who return from abroad and must be isolated from the moment they land at Ben Gurion Airport. Therefore, the ministry is expected to present an orderly outline on the matter soon.
