The attorney for Derek Chauvin, the police officer tried in Minneapolis for the death of George Floyd last year, asked for his client's acquittal on Monday, saying the prosecution had not provided irrefutable proof of his guilt.

The prosecution
"has failed to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt and Derek Chauvin must therefore be found not guilty,"
said Eric Nelson after nearly three hours of argument.
