Because of Corona, many open-air events were canceled in 2021.
However, if the organizers have their way, a metal and rock festival will take place this August.
Dinkelsbühl - music performances by your favorite band late into the night, crowds of people who roar along with the band along with the songs, plus a can of cold beer: fans from the most diverse music scenes are usually excited about the festival time in summer.
But because of Corona *, almost all open airs are also canceled for 2021.
But only almost.
The "Summer Breeze" in Dinkelsbühl (district of Ansbach) is to take place this summer.
With 40,000 guests, the festival is - according to the organizer - the largest metal and rock festival in southern Germany.
Bavaria: Summer Breeze should take place despite Corona - Elaborate concept developed
The organizer wants to carry out the festival with an elaborate concept despite the corona pandemic *.
"We can logistically map that all 40,000 guests are tested before entering the site, during the event and before leaving," said event manager Jonas Medinger on Tuesday.
In an open letter, he also asks Prime Minister Markus Söder (CSU) for support.
The letter states that the 105-page concept was created in months of cooperation with the University of Trier, the Aalen University of Applied Sciences, the University of the Federal Armed Forces and the Bavarian Red Cross.
Festival despite Corona: close-knit tests planned for visitors to the Summer Breeze
Among other things, close-meshed corona tests * are planned to be carried out by specialist staff.
The tickets are personalized so that visitors can be contacted directly.
"You, the fans of the festival, have overwhelmingly approved your readiness for a close-knit test concept, as well as the necessary steps, by means of a survey, and even strongly endorsed it," write the organizers on their homepage.
They also justify their decisions there with the following words: “In 2020, events with up to 5,000 guests were partially feasible.
With alternative event concepts that took place as distance, picnic or car concerts, the organizers have already proven that they can handle the new situation with confidence and ensure the safety of visitors and employees. "
The festival is to take place in Dinkelsbühl (Ansbach district) from August 18th to 21st.
Now it is important to wait for the feedback from politics - also from Söder.
