The disappointment is written on Florian and Franziska Hallmann's faces.

The siblings who run the Schongau Fairy Tale Forest just feel abandoned.

Schongau

- The Hallmanns have not been allowed to let in visitors for months.

Employees have resigned and the situation is hair-raising.

The fairy tale forest must remain closed.

“The start of the season was actually planned for March 16,” explains Florian Hallmann.

And in the same breath he reminds us that there was a sophisticated hygiene program in the entire area of the popular facility.

But there is the big problem that causes everything to fail: “We are officially registered with the trade registration office as a restaurant and zoo,” explains Florian Hallmann.

But the district office doesn't go along with that.

The authority classifies the Schongau fairy tale forest as an amusement park.

The reason for this is the small train, next to the offer of pony rides and the four small bumper cars.

These rides do not allow opening, although all possible hygiene measures have been taken there too.

Schongauer Märchenwald wanted to open at Easter

If you compare these measures with those that have been taken for construction and other markets, you just shake your head in the fairy tale forest: “We were prepared for Easter and the Easter holidays in order to get at least a small part of our current expenses back, but unfortunately No result, ”explains Franziska Hallmann.

And she describes the planning required as disastrous.

It is therefore understandable that long-term employees have given notice.

Schongau fairy tale forest: Confused location

Another example by Florian Hallmann shows how confused Lange is: "We could offer a 'Bratwurst to go' in our 'witch's kitchen', that is, the grill station next to the playground," he explains.

The visitors would then have to leave the fairytale forest with the bratwurst and eat the sausage on Diessener Straße.

Then the visitors could come back again.

On the other hand, however, the authorities would allow a third-party operator to come to the Märchenwald area with his mobile snack stand to offer his “Bratwurst to go” there.

This should then be consumed on the grounds of the fairy tale forest.

Despite all the obstacles, Franziska and Florian Hallmann have not yet given up hope: "We hope for Pentecost, otherwise it looks bleak for the Schongau fairy tale forest."
