Mauro Viale

, in his cycle

Pan y Circo

(Radio Rivadavia, Monday to Friday from 3 to 5 p.m.).

The renowned journalist and driver died, at the age of 73, last Sunday, April 11, after being admitted to the Los Arcos Sanatorium after having tested positive for coronavirus (Covid-19).

After being absent the first week,

"The only thing I can think of to say is thank you. Thanks to the radio, to the people of America ... I saw everything, but I couldn't answer," he

continued, grateful for the various tributes that were made in memory of his father.

"My mother is there, as can she. I think she hasn't fallen yet. My sister is the one who has been hit the hardest.

And thanks to Mica, my wife. Without her, I would make myself a perch, I won't get up any more. "He

said about his family and highlighting his wife's support.

Then, he explained why he returned to his work task:

"If it were up to me, I'd stay in bed. But if I did, my dad would shit me farts."

"I'm a very rational guy, but I started to see signs. I'll be an asshole. But my son told me 'Maradona'. 'What?'. 'Maradona is with the bubu', he told me. I stayed, I don't know how he connected Maradona with the old man. I was shocked. I feel it all the time, "he said.

"I am very proud of my father.

I knew he was loved, but I did not know the dimension. I assumed that many people loved him, but I experienced something impressive. Many workers, make-up artists, driver, porters who knew him wrote to me," said Jonatan.

"It is difficult but it can be done. I am where my father wanted me to be.

I am proud of the father I had and the mother I have. She is a lioness. I admire my mother a lot

,

" he

reiterated.

"My dad was huge in every dimension of the word, physically, professionally, emotionally.

It made me very good to know that my dad was a loved person on both sides of the rift."

Later, he acknowledged:

"I got into journalism because I like it ... but mainly because of my dad. I did it a lot for him ...".

Then the journalist referred to the Covid vaccine that Mauro received days before his death:

"I am still proud that we processed the vaccine properly. A shame, because if it was two weeks before you don't know what would have happened."

"My old man told it, two people offered to get vaccinated on the left. And my old man said no. And I took the turn," he said.

"What we did is fine. And in this country sometimes it doesn't work to be correct and doing things wrong does work.

I don't know what would have happened. But I am proud to have gotten up at 5.50 to take the turn," he acknowledged.

Finally, Jonatan spoke of the last hours of his father's life:

"He was very compromised in his lungs, I imagine he had many days of Covid".

"

My dad was very headstrong, not know the battle we had to hospitalize my sister. I got kicked in the ambulance. Do not know what happened, because it was better. Someday we'll know ,

" he said.
