The advantage of the Munich provider would be the price, because over the year the municipality would have to pay around 10,000 euros less.

The local council made it clear, however, that when it comes to a high-quality and healthy lunch for the children, money does not play the most important role.

"Here we can do something for regionality," said Roland Haslbeck.

The local council also asked what would happen on days when the food delivery from Munich was stuck on the motorway in a traffic jam.

The fresh preparation on site is a part of the quality of life: "Others would lick their fingers." In the sum of the points, the committee agreed that the kitchen on site should be more sustainable, flexible and reliable than a supplier from Munich .

That is why the collaboration with Klaus Thermer is now being extended.

This includes around 24,000 meals per year, which parents pay for using the Kitafino app.
