Twelve parliamentarians from the Rhône belonging to the presidential majority announced on Tuesday, April 20, seizing the National Commission for Public Debate (CNDP) on the transport plan carried by the ecologists of the metropolis of Lyon, which notably provides for the construction of a cable car.

He and his colleagues (10 deputies and a senator) have submitted a referral to the CNDP which is currently under investigation, "
so that the debate takes place

In December, Sytral, Lyon's transport organizing authority, voted for an investment plan of 2.55 billion euros for the next five years, i.e. double the amount invested over the previous period.
This boost, which should make it possible to improve the transport offer in the capital of the Gauls, was driven by the ecologist Bruno Bernard, with his double hat of president of Sytral and of the metropolis.
20,000 to 25,000 daily travelers
Symbol of this change: a cable car connecting the municipalities of western Lyon to the Gerland district, whose delivery is scheduled for the end of 2025, with the ambition of transporting between 20,000 and 25,000 travelers per day. The project arouses some opposition in the municipalities concerned and among residents potentially overflown by the cable car cabins. Above all, it competes with the promise of the former mayor of Lyon and unsuccessful candidate for the head of the metropolis, Gérard Collomb, of a new metro line, the E metro, serving the west of Lyon.
This project, recalled the elected Macronists, was nonetheless a consensus under the previous term. “
