The 4th grades of the Langenbach primary school are currently in corona exile: Two classrooms have been set up in the Hummler fire station and in the community hall.

Langenbach

- The two fourth grades of the Langenbach elementary school have been in exile since the beginning of last week. As the administration has now announced in the local council, the lessons take place in the training room of the volunteer fire brigade in Niederhummel and in the community hall in the tavern at the village fountain. The background: With this measure, the distance of one and a half meters can be kept better for the entire class. Since the first to third grades are taught in distance lessons, according to managing director Bernhard Götz, “the entire primary school is now taking place in Hummel”. The hygiene regulations would be observed. Also in the bus that brings the children to Niederhummel and back, as Götz emphasized. "We really care that the children are protected."

Everything has been clarified in advance.

"The children are very happy to be in a different environment," said Götz.

In this context, a big thank you goes to the building yard, which has "brought over" the necessary furniture.

And of course also the Hummler fire brigade, their commander Josef Kratzer and his entire team, who made the said premises available and supported the action to the best of their ability.

Tour with the commandant

Headmistress Ilona Vey confirmed this on FT request. She has received tremendous support from the community and the volunteer fire department. Commandant Josef Kratzer introduced the whole fire brigade to the school children so that they would also know where they would be spending their school days until further notice. The equipment in the two outsourced classrooms is enormous. The groups had laptops, a projector, a document camera and an overhead projector. “You made the best of what you could do,” enthuses Vey. The feedback from the children was good, they felt comfortable and were taught four hours in Hummel. They would be brought by bus at eight o'clock and picked up again at twelve o'clock.

There are also some Hummler in fourth grade, they can now practically walk to their school.

According to Ilona Vey, the current situation is in any case an opportunity to give fourth graders in particular the tools they need to transfer to secondary schools.

And that in face-to-face classes.

Corona testing is also going well.

“We currently test at least three times a week, sometimes even four times,” reveals the headmistress.

So you can be relatively sure that no one will be infected.

How long face-to-face lessons are still possible, however, cannot be said.

Everything depends on the incidence values.

One is constantly in contact with the district office.
