The police have now provided information about the car of the fugitive who caused the accident: The vehicle is said to be a (mini) van or station wagon with beige, light brown or bronze paintwork. At the time of the accident, a 55- to 65-year-old man is said to have been alone in the car. "There is currently no specific information about the manufacturer or the registration number," said the police on Monday about the vehicle. The 40-year-old family man and his ten-year-old son suffered serious injuries in the collision and were flown to clinics in helicopters.
The 41-year-old mother, who had been sitting in the back of the car, was so badly injured that she could not be transported by air ambulance.
She died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.
The driver of the Renault was also flown to an accident clinic.
All three injured are out of danger.
The cars suffered property damage totaling 40,000 euros.
In addition to the rescue workers, the fire brigades from Pflugdorf-Stadl and Thaining were also on site.
The intersection remained closed until the evening hours because an accident assessor and a public prosecutor were expected.
