Get off the gas for 24 hours from Wednesday morning.

The eighth police marathon is also taking place in the Erding district.

These are the 19 measuring points in the Erding district.

Erding - Almost 4,000 traffic accidents occurred in the Erding district last year.

A good 600 people were injured and three lost their lives on the street.

One of the number one causes of accidents is inappropriate speed, in other words: frenzy.

The police headquarters in Upper Bavaria North are declaring war again this spring - as part of a Europe-wide lightning marathon this Wednesday from 6 a.m.

For 24 hours there will be lightning everywhere in Erdinger Land or laser guns will be taken out.

It is the eighth focus day.

1800 police officers and 50 employees from the municipalities and the special purpose associations for municipal traffic monitoring will be deployed nationwide.

A year ago almost 11,000 speeders were withdrawn from circulation.

"Driving too fast is not a trivial offense, but the main cause of serious traffic accidents," explains Bavaria's Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann.

Almost a third of the traffic fatalities on Bavaria's streets can be traced back to it.

In 2020, a total of 147 people were killed in speed accidents in Bavaria, according to the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Transport.

"With our lightning marathon, we want to shake up all road users to absolutely adhere to the speed limits," emphasizes Herrmann.

"We are not interested in issuing as many warnings as possible or sending fines."

That is why the police publishes all measuring points on the Internet in advance at sichermobil.bayern.de.

Bavaria-wide there are 2100, in the district 19. Here is controlled:

Dorfen: B 15 near Oberhausmehring (50 km / h), ED 13 (60), Solling-Grüntegernbach near Elsenbach (70), state road 2084 near Schrafstetten (80), Schrallham (80), near Schreiner (60);
