The Russian Foreign Ministry expressed today (its strong protest) to Ukraine after the expulsion of a Russian diplomat from its territory.

"Kiev's accusations against the Russian diplomat are unfounded and unfounded," the Russian RIA Novosti agency quoted the Foreign Ministry as saying, indicating that it reserves the possibility to expel a Ukrainian diplomat in response to Kiev's announcement that the Russian ambassador's advisor is persona non grata to it.

Last Saturday, Ukraine decided to expel the Russian ambassador’s advisor in Kiev in response to the Russian Federal Security Service’s announcement of the expulsion of the Ukrainian Consul General after he was caught red-handed while receiving information of a confidential nature from a Russian citizen in St. Petersburg, Alexander Susunyuk.
