More and more people are watching with concern how absurd false news and conspiracy theories spread in the wake of the corona pandemic and thus unsettle a large number of people.

A sign campaign by two city councilors wants to counter this tomorrow, Wednesday.

Miesbach's family officer Malin Friese and Second Mayor Astrid Güldner (both Greens) want to counterbalance this tomorrow, Wednesday, with a sign campaign. From 3 to 5 p.m. anyone who wants to take part can put up a sign with a message in Waitzinger Park next to Habererplatz during this period.

In terms of content, the signs should reflect the worries and fears or encourage people to survive the exceptional situation.

They are intended to counterbalance “fake news and conspiracy theories” that are published in networks and social media.

"Because this fake news pursues radicalizing, destabilizing and incitatory purposes that do not fit our basic democratic understanding," state the organizers and city councilors.

The aim is to take worries and fears seriously and to support one another.
