The students of the Eastern University of Naples have opened an outdoor study room, in front of the main building of Palazzo Giusso, to protest against the top of the University who, the students write on social media, "despite the many interlocutors they had, promises made and words spent, the Rector and the University continue to make no effort to allow a gradual and safe return to the office ".

The boys set up benches with chairs and went to study outside the historic headquarters of the Oriental, after having posted a banner at the university with the words "study rooms and libraries are part of the right to study", setting up even a chair with hand sanitizer before entering the outdoor study room.

The students underline on Facebook that "since the day the Oriental closed due to the health emergency, more than a year has passed: a year of distance learning, of broken university careers, of the lives of female students and students forced between four walls not always suitable to guarantee them the tranquility and the tools necessary to study and continue their academic paths. The latest attempt to break the institutional wall of silence that the University has placed in front of us, achieved with the occupation of the he atrium of Palazzo Du Mesnil and the commitment made by the Rector to take action to find a solution by the beginning of the second semester, was broken by the red zone that affected Campania for more than a month. Now the second semester has begun ,a new orange zone is upon us but silence continues, and all commitments made remain unfulfilled. While other universities in Italy and in our city seek, and often find, solutions to initiate a safe return, we cannot accept that silence continues when our study paths and our lives are at stake ".
